Rajiv Agarwal is a tenured Professor of Medicine at Indiana University School of Medicine at Indianapolis, Indiana. 


Professor Agarwal earned his medical degree from the All India Institute of Medical Sciences in New Delhi and completed his residency in internal medicine and nephrology at the University of Texas, Southwestern Dallas. 


In July 1997, he joined Indiana University as Clinical Assistant Professor, later promoted to Professor of Medicine, receiving the Indiana University Trustee's teaching award and the Young Scholar award of the American Society of Hypertension. Professor Agarwal is an internationally recognized leader in the area of hypertension in patients receiving haemodialysis and has been continuously funded for randomized trials since 2003 by the National Institutes of Health.

Professor Rajiv Agarwal

Jennifer Green is a professor of medicine and a faculty member of the Duke Clinical Research Institute (DCRI). Her research has focused upon strategies to treat diabetes and reduce the risk of cardiovascular, kidney and other diabetes-related complications. Her work with the DCRI has included protocol development, oversight of adjudication committees, and clinical and operational leadership for several large, international trials designed to determine the cardiovascular effects of glucose-lowering medications (TECOS, EXSCEL, and Harmony Outcomes).  


She was also part of the multidisciplinary leadership team for COORDINATE-Diabetes, a trial which was successful in increasing delivery of guideline-based therapies to patients with type 2 diabetes (T2D) and atherosclerotic cardiovascular disease (ASCVD) who received care in cardiology clinics across the US. She is now leading an innovative, centralised study of an intervention to reduce the risk of future diabetic foot ulceration, which will be conducted using an electronic health record-linked software platform developed by a Duke faculty member. 


Professor Green has concluded three years of service as a member of the American Diabetes Association’s (ADA) Professional Practice Committee, which publishes the organisation’s annual Standards of Care in Diabetes. 


She is now a member of the ADA-EASD (European Association for the Study of Diabetes) writing group which recently revised a joint consensus statement on the management of hyperglycemia in T2D.

Professor Jennifer Green

Biykem Bozkurt is the Senior Dean of Faculty, the Mary and Gordon Cain Chair and Professor of Medicine; Director of Winters Center of Heart Failure; and Associate Director of Cardiovascular Research Institute at Baylor College of Medicine.

Throughout her career, Professor Bozkurt has been recognized for excellence in clinical care, education and research. She was the recipient of the Veterans Affairs (VA) research awards, American College of Cardiology (ACC) Proctor Harvey MD Young Teacher Award, ACC Gifted Educator Award, Baylor College of Medicine presidential awards in Education, Lifetime Master Clinician, and Professionalism. She has been listed in Clarivate World’s Highly Cited Researchers (top 1% Web of Science) in 2018, 2019, 2020 and 2023.

Professor Bozkurt is the Editor-in-Chief of the 

. She served as the President of the Heart Failure Society of America in 2019–2020, led the Universal Definition and Classification of Heart Failure as the Chair in 2021, and was the Vice-Chair of the 2022 AHA/ACC Heart Failure Guidelines Writing Committee. Professor Bozkurt actively participates in clinical and translational research; provides advanced heart failure patient care; presents at national and international scientific sessions; and teaches and mentors trainees and faculty.
